School of Rock follows Dewey Finn, a failed, wannabe rock star who decides to earn an extra bit of cash by posing as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. There he turns a class of straight-A pupils into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping, mind-blowing rock band. But can he get them to the Battle of the Bands without their parents and the school’s headmistress finding out?

ACTORS INFORMATION

Audition Intensive : September 2

Saturday 12NOON to 3PM at Emerge Church Upstairs Studio. Cost $50.

This intensive workshop will prepare actors for an audition. How to deliver a monologue (characterisation, physical movement, projection, accents, style.) How to present an audition song (characterisation, acting while singing, telling the story, and technique.) The directors will provide individual feedback to every person in the workshop.

Audition: September 9

1PM-5PM at Emerge Church, 1 Coorparoo Road, Warner

Auditions are required if you want a lead or minor role, featured dancer or soloist. We guarantee that everyone who auditions will be included in the cast!

Rehearsals: September 18 - 23

Rehearsals for BJT productions follow our unique “Show in a week” formula. They will run on the Monday to Friday promptly from 8:30am to 5:00pm.

The actor is required to sing a song, dance, and memorise a monologue with the required characterisation. Younger children may memorise a sentence or two instead of the entire monologue.
