For the first time ever we are excited to present 2 shows in 1!

Children aged 5-12 will perform Disney’s The Jungle Book Kids, and teenagers aged 13-18 will perform Into The Woods Jr.

The Jungle Book Kids is adapted from Disney’s beloved animated film and the works of Rudyard Kipling, the “man cub” Mowgli, bounds through the jungle and learns what it means to be human.

Into The Woods Jr. centres on a baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King’s festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a witch’s curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse and wind up changed forever.

ACTORS INFORMATION

Audition Intensive : November 16th

Saturday 12NOON to 3PM at Emerge Church Upstairs Studio. Cost $50.

This intensive workshop will prepare actors for an audition. How to deliver a monologue (characterisation, physical movement, projection, accents, style.) How to present an audition song (characterisation, acting while singing, telling the story, and technique.) The directors will provide individual feedback to every person in the workshop.

Audition: November 23rd

1 – 4pm at Emerge Church, 1 Coorparoo Road, Warner

Auditions are required if you want a lead or minor role, featured dancer or soloist. We guarantee that everyone who auditions will be included in the cast!

Rehearsals: December 16-21

Rehearsals for BJT productions follow our unique “Show in a week” formula. They will run on the Monday to Friday promptly from 8:30am to 5:00pm.

Audition Monologue

The actor is required to sing a song, dance, and memorise a monologue with the required characterisation. Younger children may memorise a sentence or two instead of the entire monologue.
